LG Heat Pump Installation: Project Brief

Ace Energy were asked to work alongside a local reputable building contractors, on the complete renovation of the heating at our Dorset based client’s country property.

Having researched more eco-friendly heat source, the customers wished to install a heat pump to replace their existing oil boiler and to also replace the radiators in the parts of the property at the same time.

After our initial on site survey and after carrying out a heat loss survey for the property, we suggested an air source heat pump would be the most suitable option as unfortunately there wasn’t sufficient outside space for a ground source heat pump to be installed.

As registered, accredited MCS installers, it meant that our Dorset based customers were eligible for the Boiler Upgrade Scheme on their new heat pump. The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) offers homeowners, who install renewable energy resources a £7,500 grant towards their installation.

After careful consideration the heat pump chosen for the project was the LG Therma V 16kW Heat Pump.

We decommissioned and removed the old oil boiler and all the radiators that were to be replaced.

Our specialist heat pump installation team then, in conjunction with the other trades working at the property, re-ran the necessary pipework and connected everything back to the new cylinder and heat pump.

Our engineers commissioned the heat pump to ensure it was up and running upon completion of the works at the property. We then provided the customer with a hand over pack containing all the details about the new heat pump.
