How Much Does a Boiler Service Cost in Dorset & Wiltshire?

Posted on 24th Sep 2026

If you’re trying to work out boiler service cost in Dorset or Wiltshire, you’ll usually come across a lot of vague answers online, “get a quote” forms and wide national price ranges that don’t tell you much. We’d rather just tell you the actual price.

In Brief

A gas boiler service with Ace Energy costs £80 plus VAT, and an oil boiler service costs £130 plus VAT, both fixed prices with no hidden extras. Any repairs or replacement parts found during the service are quoted separately.

How Much Does a Boiler Service Cost With Ace Energy?

Here’s exactly what our annual boiler service packages cost:

  • Gas Boiler Service: £80.00 + VAT
  • Oil Boiler Service: £130.00 + VAT

We quote a fixed price rather than a “from” price or a vague estimate, so you know what you’re paying before we arrive. The only thing not included is any repairs or replacement parts, if our engineer finds something that needs fixing during the service, that’s quoted for separately rather than bundled in automatically.

What’s Included in a Boiler Service?

A boiler service with one of our Gas Safe and Oftec registered engineers covers:

Whats included in a boiler service

  • Checking your boiler still meets current standards and requirements
  • Checking for corrosion or leaks
  • Cleaning inside the boiler
  • Checking individual parts
  • Firing the boiler up to check the pressure and confirm there are no running faults

If anything comes up along the way, our engineer will talk you through it and offer advice on what, if anything, needs attention.

Why Does an Oil Boiler Service Cost More Than a Gas Service?

If you’re on oil heating, which is common across many rural parts of Dorset and Wiltshire without mains gas, you’ll notice the service price is a little higher than a gas boiler service. This comes down to the extra checks an oil system needs and the additional Oftec registration required to safely service it, on top of the usual Gas Safe checks. It’s not a flat markup, it reflects the genuinely different work involved.

Landlord Gas Safety Checks

If you’re a landlord in Dorset or Wiltshire, you’re required by law to have an annual Gas Safety Check carried out on any gas or LPG appliances in your rental property. We offer this alongside a boiler service, so you’re not paying for two separate call outs:

Landlord Gas Safety Checks

  • Gas Safety for supply or an individual appliance: £65.00 + VAT
  • Gas Safety for boiler plus boiler service: £100.00 + VAT
  • Gas Safety for fire plus fire service: £120.00 + VAT
  • Gas Safety for boiler and fire plus service for both: £215.00 + VAT
  • Add Gas Safety for a hob to any of the above: £12.00 + VAT

Once complete, we’ll provide you with a Landlord Gas Safety Certificate, which should be kept for two years with a copy given to your tenants.

Why Regular Servicing Is Worth It

An annual service does more than tick a box. It helps your boiler run more efficiently, reduces the risk of an unexpected breakdown, and can be required to keep your manufacturer’s warranty valid. It’s also one of the best ways to catch small issues early, the kind of thing that, left alone, often ends up as a boiler losing pressure further down the line.

If remembering to book your service every year isn’t something you want to think about, we offer Annual Maintenance Reminders, one of our team will simply give you a call when yours is due.
